For the Spring Cineforum online Greek film festival, an ideal follow-up to last year's Summer Cineforum and Autumn Cineforum, and in keeping with a logical thread of continuity, Dopolavoro Filellenico is presenting the films Eteros egò (Heteros Ego), in April 2026, linked to the conference "The Science of Sound. Pythagoras Round Trip: From Cosmic Harmony to String Theory" that Professor Aldo Aimone will hold on Saturday 18th of April at 6:00 PM at "Il Clubino" in Naples, organized by the Neapolitan members of the Italian Philhellenic Society, chaired by Marco Galdi. As usual, the conference can be followed live on the Filellenica YouTube channel.
Eteros egò is a detective story whose plot references the theory of Pythagorean friendly numbers. It will be available for viewing on the platform on Monday 20th of April at 6:30 PM.
The second screening is part of the "Greek Cinema" program, which was previously agreed upon with the "Borgo dei Greci" association of Livorno, chaired by Umberto Cini. The film is Uzerì Tsitsànis (Ουζερί Τσιτσάνης), which we will see together on Thursday 23th of April starting at 6:30 pm. The story is based on the novel by Iorgos Skambardonis, translated into Italian, "The Last Rebetiko."
For the third screening, the equally dramatic movie under the name "To teleftèo simìoma" (To the Last Note) is proposed, the story of the German execution of 200 Greek political prisoners during the Second World War in retaliation for the killing of a German general and his escort in Laconia (four people in total). The title means "The Last Note," but as with the others, the original title has been retained because these films are not distributed in Italy and therefore there are no Italian-language editions, other than those have been translated and subtitled. Since the execution of the 200 took place at dawn on the 1st of May 1944, it is propose screening it on the anniversary, Thursday 30th of April at 6:30 PM.
They are all very intense films and full of food for thought. Many members of Dopolavoro Filellenico have already seen these three titles at various times, both in person and online, but this rerun could be an opportunity to revisit a favorite film or catch up on a missed one.
Hoping the project is well received and that participation is high, in the coming days, links to the stories and in-depth analyses of the films on YouTube will be shared for those interested.
