For the Greek film series on the Cineforum di primavera online platform, the ideal sequel to last year's summer and autumn editions, and following a logical thread of continuity, the Dopolavoro Filellenico presents for the month of April 2026 the film Eteros egò (Έτερος εγώ). This screening is linked to the conference 'The Science of Sound. Pythagoras round trip: from cosmic harmony to string theory,' which Prof. Aldo Aimone will hold on Saturday 18th of April 2026 at 6:00 PM at 'Il Clubino' in Naples, organized by the Neapolitan members of the Società Filellenica Italiana, presided over by Marco Galdi. As usual, Prof. Aimone's lecture can be followed live on the Società Filellenica Italiana's YouTube channel at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/live/NH0kMeVC-kc si=8j51uM814aiCjkCE.
Eteros egò is a crime thriller whose plot refers to the Pythagorean theory of amicable numbers. We will watch it on Monday 20th of April 2026, starting at 6:30 PM, with an introduction by Giancarlo Antonucci, President of the Dopolavoro Filellenico."
The Cineforum can be followed here, on the app or browser: https://meet.jit.si/cinediprimavera
The second screening is part of the "Greek Cinema" program, which was previously agreed upon with the "Borgo dei Greci" association of Livorno, chaired by Umberto Cini. The film is Uzerì Tsitsànis (Ουζερί Τσιτσάνης), which we will see together on Thursday 23rd of April 2026, starting at 6:30 pm. The story is based on the novel by Iorgos Skambardonis, "L'ultimo rebetiko," translated into Italian.
.
The third screening is the equally dramatic "To teleftèo simìoma" (To teleftèo simìoma), the story of the German execution of 200 Greek political prisoners during the Second World War in retaliation for the killing of a German general and his escort in Laconia (four people in total). The title means "The Last Note," but as with the others, the original title has been retained because these films are not circulating in Italy and therefore there are no Italian-language editions, other than those translated and subtitled by the president of the Dopolavoro Filellenico, Giancarlo Antonucci. Since the execution of the 200 took place at dawn on the 1st of May, 1944, we suggest screening it on the anniversary, Thursday 30th of April 2026, at 6:30 pm.
They are all very intense films and rich in points for reflection. Many of us have already seen these three titles at various times, in person and on the platform, but the re-proposal can be an opportunity to watch again a film we liked or to catch up on one that was missed.
The activities of the Dopolavoro Filellenico are supported by the Fondazione Taranto 25.
