The association “DIAZOMA” is an open citizens’ initiative whose main objective is the protection, promotion, and reintegration of ancient theatres into contemporary social and cultural life. Recognizing ancient theatres as outstanding achievements of ancient Greek civilization—places where democratic institutions flourished and significant forms of cultural creation and public dialogue developed—the association seeks to secure resources and promote the necessary studies and restoration projects, in close cooperation with the state and the competent authorities.

The association’s activities extend to the planning and implementation of integrated programs, such as Cultural–Environmental Routes and Archaeological Parks, which connect monuments with sustainability and the sustainable development of local communities. At the same time, through initiatives such as the program “Adopt an Ancient Theatre,” the participation of corporate members, and educational actions such as the Generation D program, “DIAZOMA” strengthens cooperation among the business community, the educational community, and citizens. Finally, through the International Network of Ancient Theatres, the development of international collaborations for the protection, management, and promotion of ancient venues for viewing and listening is encouraged.
